10 Teams: 1% Chance

So, you’re saying there’s a chance? While these teams probably won’t be considered by Kevin Durant, there is still a very slim chance he could end up signing with one of them.

Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets have burst onto the scene as competitors with the drafting of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic. A second-round exit this season was disappointing, but the team is only a few moves away from truly being elite. Durant could push them over the edge, but Denver doesn’t exactly seem like the ideal living location for KD.

Utah Jazz

Much like Denver, the Utah Jazz have been making strides in their rebuild. Donovan Mitchell is an electric rising star while Rudy Gobert is one of the league’s best defenders. Despite this, the Jazz don’t have enough talent to really persuade Durant into living in Utah.

Indiana Pacers

Victor Oladipo and Myles Turner are frighteningly close to building a competitor in the Eastern Conference. The acquisition of Durant would make them favorites to win the East, but there has been zero talks of him potentially joining the squad.

Atlanta Hawks

There is not a more exciting young team in the East than the Atlanta Hawks. Trae Young is looking like the second coming of Stephen Curry, but his development won’t happen fast enough to justify Durant joining the Hawks this Summer.

New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans made a major decision to trade away Anthony Davis. With Zion Williamson and a number of young prospects joining the roster, KD could definitely take this team to the next level. The only problem is, I don’t think Durant is interested in joining an ongoing rebuild led by a rookie who hasn’t even played a game yet.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland is only one superstar away from being a title contender. The combination of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum has proven to be deadly. However, McCollum’s criticism of KD’s decision to join Golden State might have burned the bridge of him ever signing with the Blazers.

Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics crashed and burned in magnificent fashion this season. After witnessing the mutiny of Kyrie Irving, would Durant really want to join this franchise right now?

Houston Rockets

Teaming up with his former teammate, James Harden, would be amazing for Durant. Sadly, the massive contracts that were given to Harden, Chris Paul, and Clint Capela will likely restrict a deal from getting done.

Miami Heat

Despite not being one of the premiere young teams in the league, I wouldn’t bet against Pat Riley pulling this off.

Washington Wizards

Potential homecoming for Durant? Unlikely, especially considering the current state of the team. But, just look at the position Cleveland was in before LeBron James returned. A championship for his hometown would be incredible. Come on, it could happen (Not really).
