2 Teams: 10% Chance

Now we’re heating up. There are two teams in the league with a fairly solid chance of landing Kevin Durant.

Los Angeles Lakers

Kevin Durant and LeBron James have battled each other three times in the NBA Finals. With KD winning the last two showdowns, could we finally see these two legends team up?

The Los Angeles Lakers, on paper, would be the perfect destination for this dream scenario to take place. The Lakers have been at the top of the NBA world many times before and are no strangers to having talent on the roster.

Their decision to most of their young core and assets in return for Anthony Davis has shown that this franchise is going all-in for a title. Durant would be the cherry on top for this team, but there is no telling if he is willing to join a LeBron led team.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Taking care of unfinished business in OKC sure would be sweet. Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder on bad terms. However, if he returned to the Thunder and brought them their first championship it would be a story strong enough to thurst Durant into GOAT conversations.

Sadly, with Russell Westbrook still on the roster, the likelihood of this happening is decreased. Not to mention the fact that they just had the most embarrassing finish to two postseasons that they could have possibly had. Having a half-court buzzer beater hit on you to close out a series isn’t exactly the best way to draw in free agents.

Reuniting with the Thunder would be a sight to see. However, there are other teams with better odds of signing Durant.
