New York Knicks: 20% Chance

Despite not having much talent on the team at the moment, the New York Knicks have consistently been named the favorites to land Kevin Durant this summer. The mainstream media has been pushing for KD to join the Knicks and subtle hints from KD’s closest friends has pushed New York to the front of our list.

Right now, New York isn’t even close to competing for a championship. With a 17-65 record, the Knicks were the worst team in the league last season. Outside of Dennis Smith Jr, the Knicks don’t have a bright future whatsoever.

Still, Durant and other stars are constantly being reported as interested in joining the franchise. Perhaps it’s because the team plays in one of the best cities in the world?

Regardless, there certainly seems to be some friction between the Knicks and Durant. The New York front office made a huge decision to trade their only star, Kristaps Porzingis, to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for mostly cap space. This move was either an incredibly wild one by New York or a chess move to open up the path to signing KD.

There is no telling if Durant is truly eyeing the Knicks or not, but where there is smoke there is usually fire. These rumors usually don’t start for without reason and it is very possible Durant could be headed to New York this summer.
