Immediate success might be in the gameplan

A full season without Durant and Thompson would be a daunting prospect, making the playoffs would be an achievement let alone the finals.

The strength in numbers mantra has long been voiced by everyone in the Warriors organization but that has been far from true for a large majority of the season.

But on a team with hardly any complimentary shooting extending Klay and KD could make exacerbate the situation more so considering Quinn Cook’s impending free agency.

"The heavy investments into the four All-Stars had left Steve Kerr’s men without any consistent contributors in the second unit aside from Kevon Looney. The latter had recently been described as a “foundational piece” by Coach Kerr but with his exceptional postseason play, the Warriors could well not be able to afford him for a gamble that could prove ruinous for the franchise."

That is without taking into account that the once dreaded Hampton’s 5 lineup will all be entering their 30+ plus season and it is hardly a certainty Andre Iguodala will still be even in the NBA at that point. Is it realistic that the Dubs would even be contending?
