3. Brooklyn Nets

So maybe the New York Knicks can’t pull off a deal for Klay Thompson, but could the Brooklyn Nets do it? While neither team has seen much success this decade, the Nets have built the stronger core.

Behind the breakout seasons from players such as Joe Harris, D’Angelo Russell, Caris Levert and Jarrett Allen, the Nets managed to squeeze into the NBA Playoffs as the six seed. They ended up losing 4-1 to the Philadelphia 76ers but put up a stronger fight than most would have guessed.

Russell is their current star, averaging 21.2 points per game last season. However, with Russell set to become a free agent as well, the Nets might choose to make a big offer to someone like Klay Thompson instead.

There are already rumblings that the Nets are becoming frontrunners to sign Kyrie Irving. If this is true, what would stop Thompson from joining him? The Nets might not be as talented as the Warriors, but playing in a weaker conference should balance things. This is a real possibility for Klay.
