The Golden State Warriors’ superstar Kevin Durant has narrowed his free agency options down to four: the GSW, NY Knicks, LA Clippers and Brooklyn Nets.

The good news is that Kevin Durant is still highly considering re-signing with the Golden State Warriors. They can give him an extra year and more money than any other team on the market; however, there are still a few other teams that he is considering signing with.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Warriors, Nets, Knicks and even the Clippers are all “significant considerations” for Kevin Durant this upcoming free agency. Woj talked about Durant’s free agency during last night’s NBA Draft.

Woj continued on this statement when the Golden State Warriors were put on the clock with the No. 28 overall pick which was used on University of Michigan’s Jordan Poole.

“One thing I’m told is he is really focused on making his decision independently of anyone else and that includes Kyrie Irving. He’s at a point in his career where he’s going to decide really essentially on a four-year deal elsewhere or a five-year deal with Golden State, where he’s going to spend the rest of his prime.”

This is both good news and bad news for Warrior fans.

Durant wants to make the decision independently of anyone. That seems to refer to both Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson. Irving is expected to go to Brooklyn and Thompson is expected to re-sign with Golden State.

However, Durant’s not going to let their decisions impact him. This next contract, given that Durant is out an entire season due to his ruptured Achilles, will likely be where he lives out the remainder of his prime.

The option of a sign-and-trade may also be ideal for both parties. Durant gets the bag. He gets the extra year as well, and then the Warriors get a haul in return that’ll put them back in contention. Because, let’s be real, without Durant, this team would struggle to even get back to the Finals.
