The trio will add key depth to the rotation

Although it is hard to see Smailgacic providing an instant impact, the other two definitely will. Both Poole and Paschall should immediately come in and bolster a bench that lacked numbers and scoring last season.

Outside of Quinn Cook, the bench lacked secondary shooting and the duo of Curry and Cook for a season hardly inspires confidence. However, both Poole and Paschall should be able to add a bit of quality and youth to an ageing second unit.

As the Warriors face a cap crisis, only minimum contracts and the mid-level exception are available. Finding contributors to outplay those deals can often prove to be a tall order and like Alfonso McKinnie found last season, there is always a place available. Should Poole and Paschall perform they could easily find themselves as key rotation guys.

It almost seems clear that the Dubs second-rounder will feature prominently as a direct backup to Green.

However, that will possibly make Draymond more effective with having to play less minutes. Paschall is big, tough and willing to do the little things that go unnoticed. Paschall could well from a solid partnership with Looney (should he resign).

Meanwhile, GM Myers has spoken of Poole’s quality as a shotmaker, playmaker and praised the versatility the Michigan guard possesses and has already received the vote of confidence from Draymond.

It must be added the Warriors worked out the former Wolverine this offseason and Poole must have left a positive impression.  He projects as a dynamic scorer and a player with long-range shooting skills the Dubs desperately need.

Poole could well be the guy who adds impetus from the bench.
