All we know a trade for Kevin Durant will involve is a young player and a good amount of picks. I feel a third team would be ideal because the Warriors don’t necessarily want to develop a young player right now.

They want to win. A young player is a better trading asset for them that’d allow them to get a star to replace Durant’s production and set them up for the future. That’s the thinking behind this trade.

While deemed untouchable, no one should be untouchable when talking about Kevin Durant. For LA, they give Shai, but they get Durant. They only give up Shai and a pick, arguably the best haul for Durant of any of these trades.

The Magic give Gordon and a second for a point guard with star potential. With Chuma Okeke, Mo Bamba and Jonathon Isaac, the Magic need an offensive initiator. That’s Shai. Then for Golden State, you replace Durant and get a solid amount of picks.

This seems like a win-win-win, right? Each team walks away with something they were needing and the Dubs take home perhaps the biggest reward.
