8. DeMarcus Cousins (Sell)

The Golden State Warriors nearly destroyed the league when they signed DeMarcus Cousins to a one-year $5 Million dollar contract last year. The signing felt as if it shook the entire NBA, causing many analysts to believe it was an unfair move and even being called to be vetoed by many fans.

It didn’t take long for reality to hit the Dubs and Cousins. Despite being one year removed from dominating the league as the best center in the NBA, his Achilles injury proved to be too much for him to fully recover from.

One of the things that made Cousins so deadly in the past was his mobility. After surgery, Cousins never regained his agility and actually looked his size on the floor for the first time ever. This gigantic 7-footer was no longer gliding up and down the court, but rather wobbling and looking like he was in pain as he ran.

This caused two things to happen to Cousins. He became a complete liability on defense and was inconsistent on offense. As a result, the Warriors had no clue what to expect from him on any given night.

Cousins’ value has certainly plummeted. I doubt many teams will be offering him too big of a contract. However, the Dubs should be very careful about matching any offers and might even be best off letting him walk this Summer.
