The Golden State Warriors have countless scenarios this offseason, but there’s only a handful that’d be advantageous to their dynasty.

Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and DeMarcus Cousins along with numerous players throughout the league can relocate this summer. While a great thing for the league, free agency isn’t always ideal for individual teams. It’s been great to the Golden State Warriors in the past.

However, prior to signing Kevin Durant in the 2016 offseason, the Warriors went through a time period where snagging those high-level stars was a rarity, not a commodity. With several stars and even a few superstars, the Warriors 2019 offseason could drastically change the team.

Still in control of the West, the Golden State Warriors have been to five-straight NBA Finals, winning three of them. This upcoming season, they’ll have to prepare for Anthony Davis and LeBron James, assuming they make the playoffs.

Their decisions may not impact the Warriors’ thinking too much. The gameplan is simple for Golden State: do what you can to retain your stars. If you can’t retain them, then you must start the process of minimalizing the holes their absence creates.

For instance, if Durant leaves, go sign Rudy Gay. If Klay leaves, which is extremely unlikely, try to sign Austin Rivers. If they all stay, the cap space will be limited yet they’ll have their four stars locked up for the foreseeable future.

That being said, let’s dive into five ideal scenarios for the Golden State Warriors.
