Golden State Warriors: 5 ideal scenarios for Dubs in upcoming free agency
Re-sign Klay, re-sign Looney, sign Seth Curry, sign Rudy Gay
Let’s assume Cousins and Durant both walk. What do the Dubs do then? Well, they’d have to replace Cousins production which would be possible with a combination of Damian Jones and Kevon Looney.
They’d able to fill out the backcourt and supplement Durant’s production with Seth Curry and Rudy Gay. Both solid defenders, they’d be able to help create a different, more versatile small-ball lineup with Green and Curry on the court.
Iguodala, Green and Gay in the frontcourt and Thompson and Curry in the backcourt would be able to compete with any other five-man lineup in the league. However, Gay is looking to return to San Antonio, likely on another eight-figure contract.
We don’t quite know what Seth Curry is going to do, but he may be partial to signing with Golden State since his brother is on the team. Adding those two and re-signing Looney and Klay would be another ideal offseason scenario for Golden State.
Which of these scenarios would you prefer?
