Enes Kanter

The second-straight player that appears on our list from the Golden State Warriors Western Conference Finals opponent is Enes Kanter. Kanter signed with Portland after being waived by the Knicks earlier in the year.

Kanter was having a career year in Portland and seemed to love being out of New York. In his 67 games this past season, Kanter averaged 13.7 points on 55% shooting. Not a three-point threat, Kanter would thrive as a Kevon Looney replacement if the homegrown forward leaves in free agency.

Against Golden State, Kanter was unplayable at times, but when he was in the game, he annihilated the Dubs on the glass. Averaging 3.8 offensive rebounds throughout the year, Kanter snagged just 2.8 per game against Golden State, playing under 18 minutes per game.

Like for many of these other free agents, the cost is the largest factor. He’s a strong-willed center that can get to his spot and score when necessary, however, he’s certainly not a high-value player and shouldn’t be treated that way on the open market.

Someone will overpay for Kanter, but if they don’t, Golden State should make a serious run for him.
