Dewayne Dedmon

If the Golden State Warriors, like they plan to do, retain both Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, they won’t have the cap to re-sign Kevon Looney. That means they need to find a Kevon Looney replacement that’s similar to the big man.

Dewayne Dedmon is that player.

Dedmon, by his standards, had a career year last season. He put up over 10 points per game while also recording over a block and steal per game in just over 25 minutes of play. However, he’s aging, and the Hawks won’t get him the success most players crave.

Last season, Dedmon made $7.2 million. If he wants that again, Golden State won’t be his home, but if he’s ok with either the veteran’s minimum or the MLE, then the Dubs would likely consider signing the 7-foot big man.

He’s a solid option but don’t put your money on him becoming a Warrior, one reason why he came in at No. 25.
