Golden State Warriors: Ranking the team’s top 25 options in free agency
Danny Green
The reverse Patrick McCaw, Danny Green could join the Warriors for the right price. That said, he had quite the leeway in talks given how well he performed during the 2019 NBA Finals. Green had arguably his best professional season last year.
He averaged 10.3 points per game. That’s not bad, but if that’s it, he’d likely be looking at the MLE. However, you also have to factor in that Green shoots 45.5% from downtown. He then bounces up to almost an eight-figure salary in a league that emphasizes the three ball.
In addition to being a threat from deep, Green has been nominated to the All-NBA defensive team in his career. Still in the prime of his career, Green should be seeing a couple of solid offers from around the league.
Expected to re-sign, Green in Golden State would certainly be an ideal substitute for the injured Klay Thompson. Even after Klay’s return, the duo plus Curry could pose a few absolutely lethal lineups.
