Terrence Ross
He shouldn’t, but Terrence Ross will be far out of the Dubs price range this offseason. He was signed to a $30 million contract extension without even averaging over 11 points per game. Now a free agent, Ross is going to be paid.
He’s one of the targets that will be overpaid by a team. He just came off a season averaging over 15 points per game and making 2.7 threes per game on 38.3% from downtown. He’d be an incredible addition with the team’s MLE.
However, Ross is likely after another eight-figure contract. Although he’s not a great defender or above average rebounder, Ross will be found of high value by a team seeking an elite scoring option.
That’s Ross. For the first time in his career, he averaged over 20 points per 36 minutes. He won’t be a high-volume contributor on a championship team, but he could contribute to one. Maybe Ross would take an MLE-like contract to play with the former champs.
It seems unlikely though.
