5. Oklahoma City Thunder

Could a homecoming be in the cards for Kevin Durant? By homecoming, I of course mean the Oklahoma City Thunder, not the Washington Wizards. Durant spent nine-seasons with the Thunder and is the most accomplished player in franchise history (outside of Russell Westbrook).

For his career with the Thunder, Durant reached seven All-Star games, was a six-time All-NBA member and reached the NBA Finals once. Playing alongside the likes of Westbrook, Serge Ibaka and James Harden at certain points, KD and the Thunder had a very successful run.

Nearly four years since his departure, the Thunder have managed to remain relevant. Westbrook has been on a mission, averaging a triple double in three consecutive seasons. Meanwhile, Steven Adams has emerged as a borderline All-Star center and the addition of Paul George has the Thunder knocking on the door of becoming a championship contending team.

At the end of the day, this team can’t go any further without a player such as Durant. Sadly, the Thunder likely lack the cap space to pull this deal off. However, there is always a chance KD feels he needs to take care of unfinished business in OKC.
