3. Los Angeles Lakers
If there is one thing the last two seasons has showed us, it’s don’t doubt the Los Angeles Lakers to somehow find themselves with a star player joining them. Despite seemingly doing everything wrong, the Lakers have hit home runs in back-to-back off seasons, signing LeBron James last year and acquiring Anthony Davis most recently.
The duo of James and Davis is enough to strike fear into the rest of the league. Averaging 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocks per game last season, Davis might be the best teammate James has ever played with.
Of course, James isn’t getting any younger. Entering his 17th season and turning 35 in December, the window for success is getting slim. James knows that AD isn’t enough to win a title with, it will take at least one more star.
This is where Durant saves the day. Pairing up with James for the first time, KD and James would instantly become the best duo in NBA history. Cap space is the only thing that could prevent this tandem from taking over the league.
