The Joe Harris deal
The Golden State Warriors are going to continue to be contenders, and they’ll continue to want top-tier talent.
Bringing in Joe Harris and D’Angelo Russell, exposing them a championship culture, could keep them in the Bay. Harris is a skilled three-point shooter and is an excellent wing that could help supplement Thompson’s production while he’s on the sidelines.
Along those lines, there’s no point for Brooklyn to keep Harris. He’s going to be a free agent this next offseason anyway, and he’ll likely be headed elsewhere given the fact that neither Golden State or Brooklyn will want to spend the money to retain him.
The Nets are playing for the 2021 NBA Finals. With Durant out all next year, the Nets have little chance at making a run through the East given how deep teams like Milwaukee and Philadelphia are. It’d also give the Nets two first-round picks.
This deal would be solid for both sides.
