The simple, likely deal

This seems like the most likely deal.

It’s simple yet would be incredibly impacted throughout the entire NBA. The Warriors would secure Russell on a deal that’s likely set for four years while the Nets would get Durant for a fifth year.

The Warriors need this to happen. If they don’t figure out a way to get this sign-and-trade done, they allow Durant to walk for no return. It’s basically like them trading a first-round pick for Russell which would be an incredible return.

This is definitely a deal that both teams should explore and one that would make sense for both sides. There’s nothing that either should negate this deal for either team.

That said, this is certainly the most likely deal and one that we should watch for.
