Derrick Rose — Update: Detroit has signed the former MVP
The one problem we continue to see arise is the pricing of players. Will they fall within the Warriors price range with or without Durant is the main problem surrounding many of these players.
Rose is no different. However, after playing for the minimum, Rose should be one of the few players that want success over the bag. After a few disappointing seasons due to injury, Rose broke out last season, averaging 18.0 points per game.
Rose was so dominant he got a few selections for Sixth Man of the Year, finishing sixth in the voting ironically. Now, Rose should want to find a place where he can succeed again. He’d be the perfect player on the Warriors second unit.
A ball-dominant point guard, Rose shot 48% from the field and 37% from three last season. Those are very solid numbers for a guard that’s been known as inefficient throughout his career. Rose and the Warriors make sense.
This is a signing that should actually happen. He should be higher, but the chance some team offers him $7-$10 million seems likely. Golden State matching that or going higher is probably not happening.
