2019 NBA Free Agency Tracker: Ranking the Golden State Warriors top 30 options
Nikola Mirotic — Update: Mirotic is apparently signing with FC Barcelona
The Golden State Warriors love a good shooter, and if Durant leaves, they’ll need someone to step in and make a difference on the offensive end. Former Pelicans and Bucks forward Nikola Mirotic can do that.
Prior to joining Milwaukee, Mirotic averaged 16.7 points and 2.7 threes per game. While those numbers dipped with the Bucks, his role changed, and he became more of a second option with Brook Lopez on the team.
Mirotic was even worse in the postseason. However, again, his role changed. It was expected. In Golden State, he could thrive. Although, to be fair, he’s still going to come at a cost, a cost the Warriors may not be able to pay.
Securing an over eight-figure contract prior to really breaking out as a star, Mirotic will likely be looking for something in the ballpark of $70 million for four years. This is just too much for Golden State, one reason such a solid fit is placed so low on our rankings.
