2019 NBA Free Agency Tracker: Ranking the Golden State Warriors top 30 options
Wayne Ellington
As we’ve said, the Golden State Warriors built their dynasty on shooting, and they’ll continue to be one of the best teams in the league because of their ability to dominate from deep. The addition of Wayne Ellington would just enhance that.
After being traded to Detroit, Ellington, in the last 28 games, averaged 2.9 threes per game on 37.3% shooting. His shooting is really his only way to really contribute. Not a great defender or rebounder, Ellington’s offensive arsenal is solely reliant on his shooting.
Over the last three years, Ellington’s made a name for himself in the league. He’s done so by becoming one of the league’s better three-point shooting options. This makes him, at the right price, an ideal target for Golden State.
Ellington’s price may be too steep, but if he wants to win, now 31, he’ll have to take that discount like so many of his fellow veterans before him have. He’d be a great addition for the Golden State Warriors.
