Al-Farouq Aminu — Update: Has signed with the Magic

We kick off our list with Portland Trail Blazers forward Al-Farouq Aminu.

Aminu was a consistent threat this season, although in the postseason he proved to be borderline unplayable for Portland. He’s displayed an aptitude at scoring over the last few seasons, averaging over eight points per game in each season.

One reason the Warriors should want Aminu is his defense. He’s an elite defensive forward with ideal size to lock down bigger and smaller players. With Durant possibly leaving and out for the season regardless of his signing, the Warriors small forward position is open for the taken.

The problem with Aminu is he is an inconsistent shooter. He’s shot under 44% in those last four season, two of which were under 40%. He can and will shoot the three, but his percentages from deep are borderline average as well.

For the right price, which is probably too low in Aminu’s case, Golden State would sign Aminu. Coming in at No. 30, we aren’t putting a 2020 Finals appearance on the line by not bringing in the nine-year vet.
