Rodney Hood — Update: Has re-signed with Blazers
This postseason, Rodney Hood may have played well enough to get some solid offers. After bouncing around from Utah to Cleveland to Portland, Hood finally found his home, playing well off the Blazers second unit.
There are numerous reasons to like Hood on Golden State. He’s a dynamic scoring option, averaging 16.8 per game in Utah and more recently 14.1 per 36 minutes for Portland. Hood can score in an array of ways as well, including high and low-post action and from downtown.
Hood’s also an elite target because of his size. At 6-foot-7, Hood could both be a Kevin Durant replacement, if KD leaves in free agency, and a Thompson replacement. He can play a two or three which should be coveted by Golden State.
Betting on himself by not re-signing in Cleveland or Portland, Hood will most likely search for the highest value contract. At 26, Hood’s main desire seems to be financial gain, and if that’s so, the Warriros may not have a single hope at signing the length forward.
However, if they get desperate with their MLE, Hood may be a solid option. A perfect fit, Hood is the first player to break our top 10.
