Kevon Looney

The Golden State Warriors have developed Kevon Looney. They’ve made him the player he is today. With interested from Houston and a few other teams, they’ll have to show him that they want him around long term. They do that with a high-value contract.

Looney played a major role in the 2019 postseason. Coming into the season as the backup center, after Damian Jones injury, Looney stepped up, showing his efficiency on both the offensive and defensive end.

Scoring 7.1 points on 69% shooting in the playoffs, Looney earned himself a contract with his timely plays. It was really his 3.4 offensiv rebounds per 36 minutes that got his play noticed. That and the ability for him to defend smaller guards.

Overall, Looney should be a valuable piece of the Warriors future and certainly a player they should look at using their MLE on. I’d be extremely shocked if Looney isn’t a Warrior next year, but the deal still has to be done.
