2019 NBA Free Agency Tracker: Ranking the Golden State Warriors top 30 options
Wesley Matthews
From Dallas to New York to Indiana, Wesley Matthews past season was a rollercoaster right. He was asked to produce at high levels in Indiana. He did well, but he was far from the Victor Oladipo replacement some hoped for.
In Indiana, Matthews averaged 10.9 points and made 2.1 threes per game. Shooting 37% from deep, Matthews isn’t the player that will take your team to contender level, but he is a better option at the two than Reggie Bullock and Caldwell-Pope.
The only problem with Matthews is his inefficiency. He’s shot under 40% from the field twice in his career; however, anything has to be better than Alfonzo McKinnie tossing up threes that seem to have absolutely no chance at going in.
That said, Matthews plays a similar game to Klay Thompson and shouldn’t be too expensive. He would get some time in the playoffs, but his main use would be to keep the Dubs afloat on both ends of the court until Thompson’s return.
Value-wise, Matthews should be one of the best players on the market.
