Andrew Bogut

Andrew Bogut started out as a luxury, late-season pick up for the Dubs, but turned out to be a necessity to fill in through injuries.

Bogut was more or less the reliable old Bogut we remembered, maybe showing a tad bit of age since we last saw him playing at Oracle. He did, however, look to have kept in great shape playing in the Australian league.

In his 11 regular season games, Bogut provided 5 boards, an assist, and 0.7 blocks in his 12 minutes per game, all while maintaining a positive plus/minus. That’s really all the Warriors could ask and expect of him.

He filled his roll, proved his value, and was not a disaster. I would call that a success for a 34-year-old man that had been out of the NBA for a year.

In the playoffs Bogut was used sparingly when the match ups allowed, averaging 9.4 minutes per game and not seeing any action when the opposing team was not playing an equally slow big man.

Bogut has always made his value most apparent on the defensive end:

Prediction:

Bogut returns to the Australian league and doesn’t see another minute of NBA basketball. It’s reported that he wants to stay in Australia with his family, so I don’t see him coming back stateside.
