The Golden State Warriors are going to trade D’Angelo sometime, and they should at least explore a deal for Cavaliers’ forward Kevin Love.

There aren’t going to many options for the Golden State Warriors when it comes to trading D’Angelo Russell. The 23-year-old superstar just signed a max contract and may never be a top-two player on a championship-contending roster.

After averaging a career-high 21.1 points last season, the Warriors dealt for Russell, bringing in both Russell, Shabazz Napier and a few other players.

However, they gave up both a first-round pick in that trade and another one that was necessary to shed Iguodala and his horrendous contract. They bought into Russell and they need to get some return for him.

Kevin Love is one of a few players that’d be a quintessential fit and easily involved in a trade both sides would agree on. I mean what does Cleveland have to gain by keeping Love? They’ll be a lottery team in 2020 so might as well aim for that first overall pick.

Love was also hurt for the bulk of last season, so any trade could easily backfire on the Warriors. That being said, there are numerous reasons why Love would be an ideal trade target for a Warriors team watching their championship window slowly close.
