Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have both been quietly drafting and developing elite talent. Dejounte Murray, who was out all of last season, was one of them. He’s a beloved talent in San Antonio and may impossible to secure.

However, imagine what Gregg Poppovich can do to D’Angelo Russell’s game. Russell would be more efficient, less rushed and actually play defense with Poppovich. That tag team would be a joy to watch.

The Spurs were one of a few teams not to make impactful changes during free agency. Their main play was re-signing Rudy Gay. They need more to compete in the West. While Russell may not be the answer for this season, he may help provide them an elite guard for the future.

Gay, who shot over 50% for the first in his career last season, could be useful for the Warriors. A big, strong, solid rebounding forward is something the Warriors should crave this offseason. Alfonzo McKinnie is not the answer at the three.

They need this trade, but this may not be enough for San Antonio to agree.
