The Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry has been receiving quite the unnecessary slander lately. It must stop.

There blatant disrespect for the Golden State Warriors two-time MVP Stephen Curry. The most recent of which was on First Take, a highly popular television show typically featuring Stephen A. Smith.

Damon Jones, the coach JR Smith threw soup on, decided to take on the Curry vs Harden debate. He sided with Harden, claiming Steph has never made it to the playoffs without two All-Stars. While it’s true, it’s also ignorant.

Here the video of Jones and his explanation.

Steph Curry has had world-class help throughout his career. Klay Thompson and Draymond Green, two players he’s played with throughout the bulk of his career, will be in the Hall of Fame. The same goes for Kevin Durant who he’s spent the last three seasons alongside.

However, he has three championships and two MVPs, one of which was the league’s only unanimous MVP. He has seasons which have never before been replicated. He took a backseat when he didn’t have to in order to make a fellow superstar feel at home.

Curry has been the ultimate teammate over the course of his career. To say that he’s not as good as Harden because he hasn’t taken a team without multiple All-Stars to the playoffs is a bit ridiculous. Curry has won championships with only two All-Stars on a team multiple times.

Has Harden even reached the Finals?

While there’s no disrespect to Harden’s level of play since he seemed to be the clear top choice for MVP, he’s not Stephen Curry, and he’ll never the accolades that Steph has.

That being said, it’s time to start realizing how good Steph both is now and has been in the past. He’s the only player to put up a season of over 30 points and 6.5 assists on over an over 65% true shooting percentage.

He’s an all-time great point guard, and it’s distasteful for some to feel otherwise. With a few years still left in his prime, he’s captained the most dominant regular season and postseason teams to ever play the game.

Talking about how he hasn’t lead his team is just….. wrong.
