While it might not seem like it, the Golden State Warriors have actually had an amazing free agency.

This summer has been a strange one for the Golden State Warriors. The free agency period opened up with a brutal blow to the franchise as Kevin Durant announced he was leaving. Combine this with a lingering injury to Klay Thompson and the Dubs felt like they may be facing the end of a dynasty.

As they always do, the Warriors managed to scrap together one hell of a unit. Their first move was to flip losing Durant into acquiring D’Angelo Russell. The first time All-Star made a huge leap in his game last season and will provide the Dubs with a unique dynamic. His play making ability is going to make this team more versatile than ever and he is more than talented enough to score in isolation.

However, the Dubs didn’t settle here. Allowing Quinn Cook and DeMarcus Cousins to walk, the Warriors continued to sign players such as Alec Burks, Willie Caulie-Stein and Glen Robinson III. All of these moves have given something the Warriors haven’t had in a few seasons: Depth.

Let’s take a look at a few of these players. Last season, Burks was a dynamic scorer and solid rebounder for the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging over 11 points and 5 rebounds a game during this brief stint. Meanwhile, WCS is a very athletic center that will fit much better than Cousins did. Lastly, Robinson played limited minutes for the Detroit Piston, but with a little bit of development, Robinson may be able to give valuable minutes to the Warriors second unit.

Overall, the Dubs may have lost a superstar, but they reloaded with a deep lineup. The trio of Thompson, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green now has unfinished business and an army of capable role players to help them get the job done.
