A league shaking move has now made the Los Angeles Clippers the biggest threat to the Golden State Warriors.

They aren’t the defending champions anymore, but the Golden State Warriors should still be among the favorites to win the 2020 NBA title. Even without Kevin Durant, the Warriors have a star studded roster. However, recent moves from the Los Angeles Clippers may have just shifted the power balance in the league.

Let’s skip right to it. The duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is going to be one of the greatest the NBA has ever seen. Two extremely versatile wing players that have proven to be elite on both ends of the floor. We are preparing to witness the most dynamic front court in league history.

Kawhi has made a living off of being a two-way player. His ability to dominate both ends of the floor allowed him to take the Toronto Raptors to the top last season, winning his second title and second Finals MVP Award. Meanwhile, PG13 continued to be a lock down defender and killer scorer by being nominated for both the MVP and DPOY Awards.

Having star power like this on one team is rare. Combining it with depth is even more unique. The Clippers have done both. Last season, LAC surprised everyone by reaching the postseason and pushing a (nearly) full strength Warriors team to six games.

This was largely due to the success of players such as Patrick Beverley, Montrezl Harrell and Lou Williams. The scrappy defensive techniques of Beverley, combined with the athletic junk-yard dog style of Harrell and the pure scoring from Williams made the Clippers a tough out.

The finishing touch to this team is Landry Shamet, a deadly shooter who has already drawn comparisons to the great Klay Thompson. From top to bottom, this Clippers team is loaded and ready to compete. As of now, they should be the biggest threat to stopping the Dubs.
