Thank You

Shaun Livingston moves on to his career swansong.

Wherever he lands will be improved by his mere presence in the locker room, and he may just have a few more classic performances in the locker. His career has seen him travel far and wide to play for many NBA teams, but his spiritual home will always be in the Bay.

The Warriors are moving in a new and exciting direction, and the old guard has had to be replaced with the next generation. Sentimentally, it is a shame that Shaun is not part of the process, but it is a necessary move to make.

He will be immortalized as part of the dynasty that ruined the league, however, and was ever-present in a stretch that has only ever been seen once before with the Celtics of the 60s.

It is up to Joe Lacob as to whether his jersey will hang beside his bench partner Iguodala’s. Some may disagree, but personally, I believe he has merited such an accolade and would love to see #34 high above in the Chase Center rafters.

From prospect to tragedy to gold, Shaun Livingston lived through it all and has arrived on the other side as a champion. His career continues on, but his legacy is already solidified.
