Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors is once again the highest rated player in NBA2K’s yearly release.

NBA2K is, without a doubt, the most popular basketball video game in the industry. Constantly topping themselves in sales, it’s no secret that NBA2K20 is a highly anticipated game. With ratings for each player being a topic of discussion each year, let’s see how Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors shape up.

Curry is no stranger to being a top rated player. Being one of the only players in the league to be a 90 overall or higher in each of the last four seasons, Curry is continuing his streak this year by being rated as a 95 overall in 2K20.

This makes Curry the highest rated Warrior and the sixth highest modern day player. Rated one overall in front of Curry are Kevin Durant, James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Then, at the top of the list is LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard, both with the highest modern-day ratings in the game at 97.

Though Curry might not be the highest rated player, he is the top point guard in the game. The next best PG on the list is Damian Lillard, landing at a 92 overall. Then, it’s Kyrie Irving at 91 and Russell Westbrook at 90 as the only other PG’s above a 90 overall.

For Curry, this is nothing new. The two-time Finals MVP has been the top rated point guard in each NBA2K video game since the 2016 NBA season. It seems that as the league and the game progress, Curry remains one of the best talents.

Curry’s ratings through the year:

  • 2K10: 60 ovr
  • 2K11: 80 ovr
  • 2K12: 80 ovr
  • 2K13: 84 ovr
  • 2K14: 88 ovr
  • 2K15: 89 ovr
  • 2K16: 93 ovr
  • 2K17: 94 ovr
  • 2K18: 94 ovr
  • 2K19: 96 ovr
  • 2K20: 95 ovr

As you can see, Curry has improved every single season, outside of this year, where he has seen a decline in his rating for the first time ever. Is this because of a decline in Curry’s game? Unlikely. The three-time champion had one of his best seasons to date last year, averaging 27.3 points per game.

Steph is and always will be a cheat code in real life and in virtual basketball. Expect video game Curry to annoy online players all year long.
