Many are already counting the Golden State Warriors out; however, ESPN analyst Kirk Goldsberry knows better than to do that.

Goldsberry, in a recent column for ESPN, called a healthy Golden State Warriors team “terrifying.” He’s not wrong. With Russell, Thompson and Curry at the 1-3, this could be incredibly difficult to stop.

Defensively, the team could have issues. Curry and Russell will have to defend someone, and in a stacked Western Conference, the likelihood of them both being able to be hidden away on defense isn’t high.

That being said, here’s what Goldsberry said about the Warriors when discussing the true title contenders for 2020.

"I’m not a betting man, but if I were, I’d be all over this bet. Why? Call me crazy, but if Klay Thompson returns to action by March or April, and the Warriors are in the playoffs, they’re terrifying. They still feature the best backcourt in the league, contract-year Draymond Green and a pretty good head coach. In a league teeming with unproven contenders, I’ll ride with these guys when it matters, assuming they’re healthy."

As many of you know, the Golden State Warriors have had quite the active offseason. With trading for D’Angelo Russell and the exodus of Kevin Durant, the Warriors have been far more involved than many would’ve thought.

They were also able to sign a few capable veterans in Willie Cauley-Stein and Glenn Robinson III. Those two should help fill the void left by Durant and DeMarcus Cousins, both finding new NBA homes.

In the Bay Area, there isn’t much concern. However, outside of the Bay Area, it seems people are forgetting which team has been to five-straight teams. They’ve forgotten the relisency shown by this gorup in the past.

People have spoke of how Golden State won’t even make the playoffs. With Thompson’s late-season return, the Warriors will be dangerous, and they should be considered one of the top title contenders in 2020.

On top of that, they do still have Russell. They could trade him to get better fitting pieces or just allow him to continue to prosper in the league. Nonetheless, this team should be fine moving forward.
