Next season is going to be tough for the Golden State Warriors. One player that could help them is Trey Burke.

The Golden State Warriors have a tall task ahead of them this season. A wave of devastating injuries led to them losing the 2019 NBA Finals. Then, the loss of Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston marked the official end of an era. With the team on a mission to reclaim their crown, signing Trey Burke should be a must.

Right now, we are looking at a very different Warriors team than we have seen before. Of course, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green still run the show, but with Klay injured and the rest of the team shaken up, the Dubs will need to adjust.

Perhaps the biggest adjustment they will make is adding D’Angelo Russell to the lineup. Russell is a skilled playmaker and scorer in isolation, averaging 21.1 points and 7.0 assists last season. It’s assumed that D-Lo will start in place of Klay, then start alongside him once he returns.

If this is the case, then the Dubs will be severely lacking in terms of back up point guards. Curry is an all-time great, but everyone needs to rest at some point. With Quinn Cook and Livingston gone, who will replace Curry?

As of now, no one. The Dubs simply don’t have a second string PG worthy of replacing Curry. This is why they should be relentlessly pursuing Trey Burke. Though he is undersized, Burke will give similar production to that of Cook.

Burke averaged 10.9 points per game last season and has proven to be a streaky 3-point shooter. This type of potential offense off of the bench would be huge for the Dubs in spurts in which Curry needs to catch his breath.

dark. Next. What the Warriors can expect from Stephen Curry

Burke is currently an unrestricted free agents, making him one of the best remaining players still available. The Dubs should be looking to snag him before anyone else does.
