Many people have already counted out the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry.

Due to losses in free agency and a major injury to Klay Thompson, the Golden State Warriors have fallen from grace. With the team facing adversity and being doubted more than ever, Stephen Curry is prepping for a historic season.

The Dubs have been counted out prematurely before. Remember the narrative before the 2015-16 NBA season? Everyone believed the Warriors got “lucky” in the NBA Finals with the injuries to Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. So many people were certain that the Warriors had reached their peak and would be exposed next year.

How did Golden State respond? They had the greatest regular season of all-time and fell one game short of the greatest single season in history. Curry was especially exceptional, averaging 30.1 points per game and winning the first ever unanimous MVP award.

Similar to the start of the 2015-16 season, Curry and the Dubs are being ruled out of title contentions. In an annual survey by the NBA, not a single person voted the Warriors to win the 2020 NBA Championship.

This, of course, has to be fueling the Dubs in their journey to reclaim the throne. One player in particular, has to be steaming at the fact that he has consistently been disrespected by critics and fans.

In the 2019 NBA Finals, Curry averaged 30.5 points, 6.0 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game. Despite these great numbers and numerous injuries to his teammates, Curry was dubbed a “choker” for not winning the championship this year.

Next. D-Lo could keep Dubs relevant in the longterm. dark

If this isn’t enough to piss off Curry, I don’t know what is. There is no doubt that Steph will be on a mission to make his doubters pay this year. Behind an underrated squad, the Warriors should be able to compete deep into the playoffs. Curry will be the man running the show and capitalizing on another historic season.
