Golden State Warriors: 3 reasons to be excited for Dubs-Rockets on Christmas
By Kit Shepard
Despite a new arena, a major roster overhaul and the loss of a superstar, the Golden State Warriors will play on Christmas Day for the seventh straight season.
However, the Golden State Warriors vs. Lebron formula, which has highlighted the NBA’s biggest day in the regular season for the past four years, will not be repeated once again.
Instead, Golden State will face another familiar foe; the Houston Rockets at the Chase Center (per ESPN’s Tim MacMahon), in a match-up that will likely be bereft of holiday spirit.
This matchup will be a rematch of the 2019 Western Conference semifinals and the 2018 Western Conference Finals. This is just one of many games that will be extremely intense and is a part of the battle for the Los Angeles which is also a Christmas Day game.
Although the encounter, in a vacuum, is merely just another regular-season game with no more importance than the other 81, there are a few reasons for the Warriors fans to await this contest with plenty of anticipation.
