Phoenix Suns

While the Suns did acquire Ricky Rubio this offseason, he doesn’t quite have the scoring ability that teams today look for in guards.

The Suns are young and are brimming with potential. If they’re somehow able to add a player of Russell’s caliber, Phoenix can accelerate a development process that’s taken longer than expected. In the next few years, they could be lethal with Russell.

Adding Russell could create the NBA’s next big three of him, Devin Booker, and DeAndre Ayton. While it’s not quite title contention, in a few years when the three have had time to develop chemistry on the court, they could be quite the force.

The Suns would likely have to offload Tyler Johnson’s contract in order to make it work, but they own almost all of their picks for the foreseeable future, so a deal could be worked out. The Suns, with their youth movement and high-value picks in hand, would be an ideal team to trade with.
