This seems a bit odd. The Golden State Warriors will play the LA Lakers in four the team’s five preseason outing in early October.

Get ready to see the Los Angeles Lakers. A lot. The Golden State Warriors will take on the Lakers in their first, third, fourth and fifth preseason games. They’ll play the Minnesota Timberwolves in their second outing.

Given the teams along the west coast, it’s odd to see the Lakers and Warriors play four times prior to the commencement of the regular season. After all, the team could play Sacramento or the other team in LA, the Clippers.

This is similar to the Warriors preseason schedule in 2018 as well. They lost to the Lakers in both preseason outings by double digits. However, in 2018, they opened up with the Wolves, Kings and Suns prior to two straight games against LA.

We saw LeBron James in one of those two outings. For Golden State, they played both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in both games against Los Angeles. While doubling the number of games against LA in the preseason, expect a few to be absent of the team’s high-profile stars.

It will be just the preseason though.

Five meaningless games for players that’ve been to five-straight Finals won’t be among a top priority, especially if they’re still recovering from the offseason traveling many of top stars do.

Overall, expect these games to at least be worthy of a watch as most of Golden State’s team is now under 28 and should be fighting for a depth chart spot in these games.

However, it would be cool to see Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Curry, Green, and Warrior newcomer D’Angelo Russell take the court. That said, it’s never to early to dream, right? Eventually, we should see these five take the court at least at some point during the season.

These games start on October 5 and end on October 18 with pretty even spacing between each game.
