3. D’Angelo Russell breaks career-high for scoring

A gigantic hole in the Golden State Warriors offense will need to be filled in this season. No Kevin Durant or Klay Thompson means the Warriors are going to be desperately relying on D’Angelo Russell to create shots for himself and others.

Russell has shown a knack for being a crafty playmaker. He averaged a career-high in assists and points last season for the Brooklyn Nets on his way to earning his first All-Star selection. His massive improvement’s helped him nearly win the Most Improved Player Award.

Now, with the Warriors, Russell will have the luxury of playing alongside Stephen Curry. With Curry spreading the floor, D-Lo will have the freedom to operate out of the pick-and-roll and in isolation. This should be a ton of fun for a player as creative offensively as Russell.

With the Dubs needing someone to replace Durant and Thompson offensively, Russell is going to get a ton of shots. This means that he could easily eclipse his career-high of 21.1 points per game. I’m betting my money on D-Lo having another career-year.
