2. Warriors land a top-five seed

Despite being the best team of the 2010s, the Golden State Warriors are already being ruled out of the 2019-20 season. Not a single person voted for the Warriors to win the 2020 NBA Championship in ESPN’s poll.

This is familiar territory for the Dubs. You may remember the doubts many had when the Dubs won the 2015 championship. Heading into the 2015-16 season, many believed that the Warriors were a fluke team that only won due to luck.

Of course, the Warriors shocked everyone by winning an NBA record 73 games in the regular season and falling just one game short of winning back-to-back titles. The Warriors will be looking to replicate this magic in the face of adversity.

Except, this time, the Warriors will truly be facing adversity. Instead of simply dealing with outside criticism, the Dubs have to handle a severe injury to Klay Thompson and devastating losses in free agency.

Still, at the core of this team is the original big-three and a new All-Star in D’Angelo Russell. The Warriors have everything needed to remain competitive and I think they will secure a top-five seed in the Western Conference.
