Golden State Warriors: 6 future D’Angelo Russell trades to consider
By Tony Pesta
4. Miami Heat
Ever since LeBron James left the franchise in 2014, the Miami Heat have been struggling to keep their head above water. The team has managed to avoid hitting rock bottom but has been stuck in the middle of the pack for years now.
After multiple seasons playing within the middle of the Eastern Conference, the Heat finally made a power move to trade for Jimmy Butler. With a certified All-Star on their team, Miami is openly looking to pair another star with Butler.
It was rumored that Miami was interested in uniting Chris Paul and Butler. Seeing as how it may be impossible for the Heat to pull off a deal for CP3’s massive contract, they might be interested in looking for another star point guard.
D’Angelo Russell can be the prolific player the Heat are looking for. Alongside Butler, D-Lo will have free reign to operate and create plays for himself and others.
In turn, the Golden State Warriors acquire a promising and versatile forward in Justise Winslow. He averaged 12.6 points, 5,4 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season and would be a welcomed addition to the Dubs.
Finally, Golden State also brings in Dion Waiters. Though his reputation in the league has been shaky, Waiters can be a pure scorer off of the bench ready to do the dirty work and carry a second unit offensively. This addition helps buff up an otherwise weak bench.
