1. Detroit Pistons
Similar to the Orlando Magic, the Detroit Pistons likely reached their peak with this roster last season. Detroit managed to climb their way to the eight-seed, only to be swept in the NBA Playoffs by the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks.
The Pistons have a simple problem: No perimeter players. Reggie Jackson was a poor excuse for a point guard last season while Blake Griffin led the team in points and assists per game. Overall, Griffin revived his career by successfully transitioning from a uber-athletic dunker to an efficient shooter from all areas of the floor.
Adding a player such as Griffin to the Golden State Warriors is an exciting thought. Griffin would thrive in the fast paced tempo that the Warriors play at and would be a great running partner for Draymond Green. Either forward could bring the ball up and create a play, making the Dubs a frightening team on the break.
At 29-years-old, Griffin has peaked as a player. He will not be a long-term member of the Pistons and the franchise is better off trading him for a young stud like D’Angelo Russell. In this deal, Detroit gets a promising guard and the Warriors receive a star that fits their current system.
