2. Defense

The Golden State Warriors have taken pride in their defense over the years. On top of being an all-time great offensive team, the Dubs have always been elite on the defensive end as well.

Their team defense hit a peak in the 2016-17 season. With Draymond Green winning the Defensive Player of the Year Award while Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson blossomed into elite perimeter defenders, the Dubs coasted to a championship.

Steadily, the Dubs defense has declined. Last year, the Warriors ranked in the bottom half of the league in terms of opponent points per game. This was the first time since their dynasty began that the Warriors struggled to stop opposing offenses.

Much like everything else, the lack of Thompson and Durant is going to impact the Dubs defense. Without these two solid defenders, the Warriors will have no way of hiding the undersized Stephen Curry. Expect opposing teams to attack Curry hard.

In order to fix this, the Warriors will need to play nearly flawless team defense. Rotations and help defenders must be ready to move at all times with high quality plays being made constantly. This is the only way the Dubs can avoid being a poor defensive team.
