How the Golden State Warriors stack up against the Pacific division
Phoenix Suns
The Suns will take on Golden State four times this season, twice at home and twice at the brand-new Chase Center. While having a ton of young talent, the Suns also have a team full of solid rotational pieces that just need a playmaking superstar to take them to the next level.

Booker may be that player unless the double teams come, and then all bets are off.
Last season, the Suns added Kelly Oubre Jr., Dario Saric and Tyler Johnson. This offseason, they also added Cameron Johnson and Ricky Rubio. No, those players won’t make them a playoff-contending team, but they will make them competitive.
The Suns will actually match up well against Golden State.
With no Klay Thompson, Booker should be able to abuse either Stephen Curry or Russell.
As Bright Side of the Sun detailed, the Suns can bring out the best in Rubio’s defense. The combination of Rubio and Booker may be able to contain Curry and Russell offensively.
That’s wishful thinking on their part, but it’s still possible.
Curry will be the key in each matchup with Phoenix. He’ll be the main weapon against any team for a Warriors roster that’ll be limited offensively this season.
Overall, expect Golden State to win the majority if not all of these matchups and expect Phoenix to finish at the bottom of the Pacific for the fourth-consecutive season.
