The Golden State Warriors, after a franchise-altering offseason, need to be smart about their in-season roster moves.
There’s no denying that it’s been an emotional offseason for the Golden State Warriors. Fans lost three of their favorites and have to come to the realization that they won’t see Klay Thompson for over half the upcoming season as well.
The loss of Kevin Durant, although it was accompanied with the addition of D’Angelo Russell, is difficult to take on. It’ll be even more painful for the Warriors when they’re in need of a guaranteed bucket and the option of giving it Durant is no longer available.
The team did their best at building a championship-contending roster in the midst of all the mayhem. They added Willie Cauley-Stein, a center that should thrive alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. They also brought in Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks.
However, this team and, more importantly, the management will need a flawless season to ensure this team is able to reach the Finals for a sixth straight season. Many are doubting their chances without Durant.
Those dedicated supporters understand that this team drastically change upon Thompson’s return. Early-season struggles shouldn’t trigger any abrupt changes, but with Myers at the helm steering the ship, the Warriors won’t be overwhelmed by any stretch of games.
That said, let’s dive into four roster changes that Myers should be cautious of as the team enters unforeseen waters.
