2. Nov 6 – New-look Rockets

After several seasons falling at the hands of the Warriors in the playoffs, the Rockets decided to scrap their Chris Paul/James Harden duo and swap Paul for Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook.

It will be particularly interesting to see how Westbrook fits in with the Rockets and if it is an upgrade or downgrade for Houston. Additionally, it’ll be even more interesting to see how they match up with Curry.

Westbrook’s inability to hit the three with consistency (30% career) and overall inefficiency as a shooter make him seem like a poor fit in the isolation and three-point frenzy offense of Mike D’Antoni, but maybe there is more than meets the eye.

I am also curious to see how the Rockets utilize Harden.

Do they continue to push all the chips into Harden and get him as many shots as possible, or do they look to run a more egalitarian style of offense and spread the ball around more? (I would say probably not the latter.)
