Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were mentioned a few times in the annual NBA GM Survey.

Every year, the NBA releases a survey conducted on each of their General Managers. The group combines to vote on a number of different questions and make predictions for the upcoming season. This year, the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry were represented heavily.

In the 2019 GM Survey, Curry and the Warriors were mentioned in 11 different categories. Curry, specifically, received votes in eight total categories while the team as a whole earned recognition in three individual sections.

Curry even placed at the top of a few questions. For example, 44 percent of GM’s stated they would like Curry to shoot the final shot with the game on the line while nearly 90 percent picked him as the best pure shooter in the game.

Other notable mentions for Curry include being one of the best leaders, best at moving without the ball and having the second-highest odds of winning the MVP award. The six-time All-Star also took home the crown as the top point guard in the league for the fifth year in a row.

Despite high praise for Curry, most GM’s had the Warriors peaking as a sixth seed this season. Only 7 percent predicted the Dubs would finish in the top four of the Western Conference.

Though this is likely due to a massive injury to Klay Thompson and a questionable supporting cast, it is also a knock on the talent of Steph Curry. To assume that the two-time MVP won’t find a way to keep his team in title contention is underrating his abilities.

This season will be a redemption story for the Dubs. As Curry looks to prove he is one of the all-time greats, we will watch as the Warriors overcome incredible odds to remain a contender.
