Golden State Warriors: Expect the Unexpected with Jordan Poole
By Adam Serpant
His off-court character
As said above, Poole’s character will be important in solidifying his position within the rotation. The transition from college to the pros can prove to be a tough task for a young man. Fortunately, Jordan seems to have a very good head on his shoulders.
There already appears to be a strong sense of comradery within the 2019 draft class. Those close to the squad have noted the rapport between Poole and Eric Paschall that has come full circle over the course of the summer. Furthermore, Alen Smailagic hosted a Serbian food tasting session for his fellow rookies that demonstrated the trio’s developing chemistry.

Jordan also has his very own veteran mentor, and he could not have been paired with a more appropriate player. The Michigan alumni has been given a locker right next to Draymond Green; one of the biggest characters in the league, and a former Michigan State superstar.
The hazing has already begun on social media, but the mentorship that Draymond will inevitably provide will be invaluable. Green has been there and done it all, and along with Paschall and Smailagic, Poole will only benefit from having people like Draymond and Steph to help them through the embryonic stages of their careers.
Finally, Poole has also shown himself to be a high-level character on the court during his college career. His reputation as a gunner will, as stated above, help the Warriors’ offensive structure, but he also has a huge clutch shot under his college belt.
A three-point bomb to give the Wolverines a buzzer beater victory against Houston in the 2018 round of 32 in the NCAA tournament was a magnificent moment for Poole, and on such a grand stage this established his willingness and ability to take big shots when necessary.
